With community interest and support we were able to collect a water sample at site FPHCTL on Hawksbill Creek yesterday, Thursday October 3, catching the tail end of the flooding caused by rains from the remnants of hurricane Helene. Even though the creek level is receding the E. coli level was still high, 1046.2 MPN E. coli CFU per 100mL of sample. Your support is needed for us to be able provide current E. coli data and to assist community members with taking steps to improve water quality. Please make a donation to support the work of the Friends of the Shenandoah River.
