It’s that time of year again when we say goodbye to our summer interns as they return to continue or complete their education. This summer, we were lucky to have Bethany join our team to support our weekly E. coli testing program.
Bethany’s role meant early mornings (even if only twice a week!), donning waders, and hopping in the car for long days of site visits, about six hours on the road. I may have caught a glimpse of a sleepy head nod here and there, but she never missed a beat when it mattered most.
Once back at the lab, the pace picked up. E. coli testing has strict time windows, and Bethany consistently brought the focus, energy, and attention to detail we needed. Her contributions helped our field and lab operations run smoothly and efficiently. She was always one step ahead, anticipating needs and lending a hand before it was even asked for.
